The tour: be prepared

Please remind yourself of the following information:

  • We ask that you please arrive at the parking lot no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour.
  • Our guided tours are approximately 3 hours long. The majority of the tour will be outside and route includes unpaved roads, dirt paths, stairs and narrow underground tunnels – so please remember to wear suitable footwear and to prepare for specific weather conditions
  • Visitors must be accompanied by a guide at all times; to help ensure the preservation of this unique site, visitors are politely asked not to touch any of the art works
  • There is parking on-site
  • There are public toilets on site, including facilities that are wheelchair accessible
  • There are no lockers or changing rooms on site, so personal belongings will either need to be locked in your car or carried with you on the tour
  • We politely ask that a strict policy of No Photography (no use of tripods) be respected at all times at La Ribaute – to request press images, please contact us
  • Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned to Vibrate or Silent during a tour; please be aware that there is limited cell phone reception at La Ribaute
  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is strictly forbidden at La Ribaute during tours
  • In an attempt to reduce plastic, we kindly ask that guests bring their own water bottles, which they can refill on site
  • Pets are not permitted on site, with the exception of service animals

If when you booked tickets you informed us that either you or someone else in your party has additional needs relating to accessibility, we should by now have contacted you to discuss them. If you haven’t been contacted (or you didn’t tell us about these needs when you booked), please contact us as soon as possible.

COVID-19 AND SECURITY MEASURES

In order to ensure a safe environment for everyone, La Ribaute’s regulations follow in accordance with the French government COVID-19 guidelines. Since March 14, 2022 masks and vaccination passes are no longer mandatory for entering the site.

In line with the requirements of the Vigipirate plan, a visual check of the contents of all bags and handbags may be conducted by a member of staff.

ACCESS BY CAR

From Lyon: Autoroute A7, Exit no.19 Bollène; take the D994 direction Pont-Saint-Esprit, then D901 direction Barjac.

From Marseille: Autoroute A7, Exit no. 20 Pont Saint-Esprit, Mondragon, Piolenc; take N7 direction Montélimar, Pont-Saint-Esprit, cross La Croisière and take the D994 direction Lamotte-du-Rhône, Pont-Saint-Esprit then D901 direction Barjac

From Montpellier: Autoroute A9, Exit no. 25 Nîmes; take N106 direction Ales, take D60 and then D16 direction Salindres, St-Jean-de-Maruéjols-et-Avéjan, Barjac.

Coming by car from Barjac, heading north on the D979 : follow the signs for Vallon Pont d’Arc, you will pass alongside the village of Barjac without going into it. It should be on your right. At the 2nd roundabout after passing Barjac village take the exit to Fondation / Brugas continue on this road until you see signs for the entrance of La Ribaute.
