FAQ

Below are the answers to frequently asked questions. Please note that “La Ribaute” refers to the site, which is part of Eschaton Foundation.

Can I come if I have mobility problems?

La Ribaute is accessible to people with reduced mobility, there are roads and access ramps.
For those who may experience fatigue during the tour, please note the following:
The route is a 4 km walk. It takes in roads and dirt tracks, some of which are steep, with fairly significant gradients.
The shortest route lasts 2h45-3h, and visitors are asked to follow the pace of the group.
There are benches along the route, positioned outside the works of art, where the guide may provide a commentary. You may therefore stay outside to rest until the guided tour continues.

You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, such as a walker, folding chair or cane, to make your visit more comfortable.

Canes are available on request from the foundation’s reception desk.

Please note that we do not have wheelchairs.

For your convenience, we propose a car ride to shorten the longer distances of the route. There is a slightly high step to get into the car.
While this is not an exclusive service, access to the car is by reservation only and subject to certain conditions. Space is limited. Please contact us before your visit if you feel you need this assistance: visits@fondation-eschaton.com

Can children visit La Ribaute?

We don’t recommend bringing young children, as the tour is not suitable for those under the age of 6. The tour is at least 2 hours and 45 minutes long, and the content is designed for adults.
Some of the large spaces can echo and be quite loud. Parents are kindly asked to ensure their children’s discretion.
Children remain entirely under parental responsibility for the duration of the visit. Parents should also ensure that their children do not touch the works of art, which do not have barriers around them.

Strollers can be used on site, but are not permitted in the underground passages which feature staircases and narrow pathways. You can either continue the tour aboveground with your stroller, or carry your child in your arms, in which case a baby carrier is highly recommended.
